I grew up in the rural thumb area of Michigan. Relocating to Mt. Pleasant after high school, I completed a Bachelor’s of Applied Arts at CMU. After spending several years in the social work field, and feeling the need to grow, I returned to CMU for my Master’s degree. However, life has a strange way of guiding us. I was investing time and money toward a career I was uncertain of. Shortly thereafter, my mother passed at a young age, causing me to take pause and evaluate what I truly wanted to do with my life. It was then that I decided to redirect my investment toward my love of photography. In 2005, Picture Perfect Studio was born. Since then, I’ve gained much experience, both in the field and classroom. I’ve been professionally trained in studio lighting, group, and individual portraiture. I now specialize in individual and family portraiture, which ironically matches my major in college- individual and family studies.
I have an honest passion for what I do. I love watching how light falls on the world in which we live, and my background in social work helps me understand and relate well with others. Combining these two elements enables me to capture people’s unique beauty in an environment that matches them and tells their story.
Thank you for taking time to learn more about me. I look forward to meeting and working with you. I hope you enjoy viewing my portfolio; please contact me to discuss arranging a session that truly suits you.
